Before Bangladesh had its own flag, its people stood together for the recognition of their language.
The Language Movement of 1952 is part of why Bangla holds such a profound place in our identity. People gave their lives defending its rightful place, leaving generations with a legacy of courage, dignity and belonging. That history reaches beyond our borders: in 1999, UNESCO proclaimed 21 February International Mother Language Day.
Bornomala honours this legacy through Bangla letters hand-embroidered within the outline of Bangladesh. Together, they express the connection between our language, our land and the people who call it home, across differences of faith and background.
With red and green thread, NoTypical brings remembrance into handmade craft. A diary to keep or give with pride, honouring the people whose sacrifice remains part of every letter.
